My Journal History Notice Board Your Work Useful Links

The aim of the Children’s Theatre Community Notice Board is to compile a variety of different perspectives and information in the lead up to the 2009 performance of Lit by Limelight. The production will be held in the Nexus Theatre at Murdoch University, Western Australia, in May of 2009. The goal of the notice board is to gain weekly entries from the production crew, staff and various experts along the way. As one of the objectives of Children’s Theatre is to ‘develop an understanding of collaborative/ensemble work’, my intent is to leave this section as a collection of the entire classes’. As I am not personally writing a journal this year, a number of the entries this year will be from myself. My aim is to help with my own perspectives, as well as to provide ideas for journal improvement.

As a participant in a theatre production, and also in teaching, it is important to share ideas and information with others. Communication is vital as regular discussions with other individuals can allow ideas and approaches to be improved and expanded. For a production like this, the entire body of students should function as a collective whole. The aim of the notice board is to provide an area to inform both the production and performance areas of the progress in the other groups’ development. Also on this page, read about the same process with 2008's 'The Captive Carousel’, the 2007 show The Return of the Snow Queen, 2006 performance of The Secret of the Snottygobbles: A Fairy Story and the 2005 production of 'Captain Quokka’s Adventure on the High Seas'
