  Final Location (Orange)

Back Next

A Final Location postcard will spell out a word related to the closing location of The Chase. These clues can be claimed by locating the position of the Clue (Yellow), a Split (Blue)  or the successful completion of a Bonus (Rose) task. A Final Location postcard will display a letter of the alphabet, and through this anagram, will eventually spelling out a word (or words) relating to the final location. This can either be a word(s) referring to the suburb, locality, area, street name, or a landmark. The photo on the postcard has been taken within 500 metres of the location to provide a visual concept of the final destination, just like the Final Destination Clue (Tan) The information provided on a Final Location and a Final Destination Clue appear similar, however the main difference to each clue is based on the area by which the picture and words are based upon. The Final Location photograph illustrates the 'finish line', specifically the immediate area surrounding it. A Final Destination Clue provides information about everything else, that is the destination surrounding the final location (up to 500 metres).

The following Final Location (Orange) were originally used in the Postcard Chase (Summer, 2005) and the Winter Chase (2005). The exact location for both was the Wind Turbine located at the near the 'Piney Lakes Environmental Education Centre'. The following postcards, in this example, are five (5) letters that spell the word 'PINEY', the final destination for the event.

The Final Location clues are fairly simple. The 'E', in this example, is the fourth letter in the word Piney. As 'E' is a common letter in most words, it provides little information to the exact final destination. The picture (above) is taken within 3 metres of the 'finish line', and in this case, is a picture of the support wires holding up the Wind Turbine.

The 'I' in this case is the second letter in the anagram of the word 'Piney'. The Final Location clue provides only basic visual assistance in helping teams locate the 'finish line'. The photograph (above) is, again, a supporting part of the Wind Turbine's structure, and was taken within 3 meters of the Final Location.
