The Chase Rules

Next

bulletYour may not interfere with another group's progress during the course of the chase. This includes hiding the clue box, interfering in tasks or stopping any team from successfully meeting the objectives of any clue.

bullet Mobiles are the life force of the chase, so please make sure your phone is fully charged. If your phone battery runs out, get to a phone booth and ring 'New Clue' (Rohan) to inform us of your problem.

bulletDon't speed! There is no reason at any stage of the chase to break any road rules. Speed is only needed for deciphering clues and finishing tasks, not for driving! Look after each other in your team, as well as everyone else on the road. Be Safe!

bulletAlways look after your personal property as well your car. For safety reasons, one person should stay in the team car at all times. If all teams are required to be away from their vehicle for a long period of time, one of the organisers will remain with all cars. It is important then to travel to the carpark specifically identified in the postcard.

bullet The 50% rule. If teams are trailing in The Chase, the 'Organisers' will ring them to help them find the next location. As 50% of the group has found the current clue (3 teams if 5 groups are competing or 2 teams if 4 groups are competing) trailing teams will always be helped. As The Chase is a high paced event, all teams need to stay close together. This means that the competition will maintain excitement for the whole day, therefore not allowing one team blow out to a huge lead.

bulletDon't skip the completion of a clue. If you work out where the final destination is, you must complete every clue because it could earn you a Final Location (Orange) postcard. To win, you must cross the line with all Final Location (Orange) postcards and all team members.

bulletHave fun! The Chase is all about having fun and meeting new people... so don't forget to enjoy yourself!
